Abstract
Poplave je nemoguće spriječiti, ali je određenim preventivnim radnjama moguće umanjiti njihov obujam i štete. Poplave su svuda u svijetu, pa tako i u Hrvatskoj, sve učestalije, intenzivnije i opasnije. Ne mogu se spriječiti, ali se poduzimanjem učinkovitih preventivnih i operativnih mjera njihove štetne posljedice mogu značajno ublažiti. U ovom radu bit će pokazano da obrana i zaštita od poplava nije jednostavna i jako brza, ona je jako kompleksna i dugotrajna. Isto tako bit će istaknuti problemi vezani za obranu od poplave na području Hrvatske Kostajnice.
Abstract (english)
Floods are impossible to prevent, but some preventive actions can reduce their radius and damage. Floods are becoming more frequent, more intense and more dangerous throughout the world, including in Croatia. They cannot be prevented, but by taking effective preventative and operational measures, their adverse effects can be significantly mitigated. In this final paper it will be shown as much as possible that flood protection and protection is not simple and very fast. It is very complex and time consuming. Problems regarding flood defenses will be pointed out in the area of Hrvatska Kostajnica.
