Abstract
Širenjem ljudskih naselja smanjuju se prirodna staništa životinja i mijenjaju odnosi između životinjskih vrsta. Smanjen broj predatora dovodi do porasta broja određenih vrsta ptica i sisavaca koji su se odlično prilagodili suživotu s ljudima. Ljudima je, s druge strane, taj suživot težak i često nemoguć zbog šteta koje ove vrste životinja često puta čine. Štete se javljaju na građevinama i automobilima, na usjevima, neželjene vrste ptica često prave nepodnošljivu buku, a predstavljaju i opasnost po zdravlje ljudi i domaćih životinja. Budući suzbijanje neželjenih vrsta životinja u naseljima nije jednostavno, a većinu postojećih metoda nije moguće sprovesti, biološka zaštita pticama grabljivicama nameće se kao učinkovita metoda. Cilj biološke zaštite je smanjiti broj neželjenih životinja, ponajprije ptica, na ekološki i društveno prihvatljiv način.
Abstract (english)
The expansion of human settlements reduces the natural habitats of animals and changes the relationships between animal species. The reduced number of predators leads to an increase in the number of certain species of birds and mammals that have adapted well to coexistence with humans. For humans, on the other hand, this coexistence is not possible due to the damage these types of animals often cause. Damage occurs to buildings and cars, to crops, unwanted species of birds often make unbearable noise, and pose a danger to the health of people and domestic animals. Since the suppression of undesirable species of animals in settlements is not easy, and most of the existing methods cannot be implemented, bird control is imposed as an effective method. The goal of bird controlis to reduce the number of pest animals, mainly birds, in an ecologically and socially acceptable way.
