Abstract
Ovim radom nastoji se prikazati što je radioaktivnost i radioaktivno zračenje te kakvo zračenje može biti. Spominju se nuklearne elektrane, te na koji način funkcioniraju i kako nastaje radioaktivni otpad, što je glavna tema u ovome radu. Radioaktivni otpad je posebna vrsta industrijskog otpada koji nije predviđen za daljnje korištenje. Razlikujemo više vrsta radioaktivnog otpada stoga postoji klasifikacija radioaktivnog otpada. U radu se opisuje kako se istrošeno nuklearno gorivo prerađuje te na koje se sve načine različite vrste radioaktivnog otpada transportiraju i na kraju odlažu i spremaju. Na samome kraju rada se ukazuje problem na nastajanje i skladištenje radioaktivnog otpada u svijetu ali i u Republici Hrvatskoj.
Abstract (english)
This work seeks to show what is radioactivity and radioactive radiation and what kind of radiation can be. There is mention of nuclear power plants, in what kind of way they are functioning and how is radioactive waste produced, what is the main subject of this work. Radioactive waste is a special kind of industrial waste which is not meant for further use. We differentiate different kinds of radioactive waste therefore there is a classification of radioactive waste. The paper describes how worn – out nuclear fuel is processed, and all kinds of radioactive waste are transported and eventually disposed and stored. At the end of work is indicated of the problem of radioactive waste generation and storage in the world but also in the Republic of Croatia.
