Abstract
Zaštita na radu danas je sastavni dio svakog ozbiljnog proizvodnog procesa kojemu je stalo do svoje reputacije, radnika i profita. U današnje vrijeme je nemoguće zamisliti jednu uspješnu tvrtku u kojoj su česte ozljede na radu i koja u svoj proizvodni sustav nema implementirane najnovije smjernice i direktive Međunarodne organizacije rada, ali nije oduvijek bilo tako. Sva zakonska ograničenja, prava i obveze su nastale kroz godine rada, istraživanja i žrtve. U ovome radu vidjet će se kako su zaštita i sigurnost na radu postali sastavni dijelovi svakog ozbiljnog proizvodnog procesa: od drevnih Egipćana koji su uočili utjecaj prašine na astmu i kako je izliječiti te grčkih i rimskih rudnika srebra, preko teških uvjeta života i rada za vrijeme industrijske revolucije, sve do modernog doba i suočavanja s problemima današnjice.
Abstract (english)
Occupational safety and health today is an integral part of any serious manufacturing process which cares about its reputation, employees and profits. It is impossible to imagine a successful company, where work related accidents occur frequently, not having the latest implemented guidelines and directives of the International Labour Organisation. It was not always so; all legal restrictions, rights and obligations came to be through years of work, research and sacrifice. In this article we will see how the protection and safety at work have become integral parts of any serious manufacturing process: from the ancient Egyptians who noticed the effect of dust on asthma and how to cure it, the Greek and Roman silver mines, to the difficult living and working conditions during the industrial revolution, the modern age and dealing with today’s problems.
