Tourism is defined as activities of visitors who are staying away from home outside their usual environment for holidays, business or other purposes. Tourism is all about experience. Town Jastrebarsko is part of the project „Smart cities – Cities of the Future“ in 2012. It was selected as one of the cities of future for South Europe and in 2016. was ranked in „Top 10 Micro European Cities of the Future“ with the best strategy designed to attract foreign investment by business magazine Financial Times. Also, in 2013. Croatian edition of magazine Forbes, selected Jastrebarsko for the second time as one of the twenty cities which are drivers of the country development. Town has over 750 years long history and it has a rich natural and cultural heritage. Wine, vineyards, wine roads and Wine Festival are just a few of the highlights of the destination. Wine Festival is used for the development of specific tailored product at a destination and also it is the most important part of tourism supply. In this work the focus shall be on tourism as part of economy in Jastrebarsko and analysis of the current situation in tourism and possibilities and limitations in the development of tourism.
