Abstract
Problem odlaganja plastike u oceanima jedan je od globalnih problema zbog štetnog djelovanja mikroplastika na morski svijet, a posljedično na ljudsko zdravlje. Znanstvenici upozoravaju da od cjelokupnog otpada koji se nalazi u oceanima najveće probleme uzrokuje upravo mikroplastika. Mikroplastika se pronalazi u često korištenim komercijalnim proizvodima kao što su proizvodi za osobnu njegu i kozmetiku. Plastika koja završi u oceanima se ne razgrađuje već se nakon određenog broja godina raspada i usitnjava na mikroplastične čestice koje ulaze u hranidbeni lanac te već danas dolazi na naše stolove i tanjure. U predmetnom radu napisan je pregled i osvrt na istraživanja u kojima se promatra i opisuje pojavljivanje mikroplastike te kako ona utječe na morski svijet i općenito okoliš te na koji način se može smanjiti udio iste u oceanima.
Abstract (english)
The problem of plastic disposal in the oceans is one of the global problems due to the harmful effects of microplastics on the marine world, and consequently on human health. Scientists warn that of all the waste found in the oceans, microplastics cause the biggest problems. Microplastics are found in commonly used commercial products such as personal care products and cosmetics. Plastic that ends up in the oceans does not decompose, but after a certain number of years it decomposes and breaks down into microplastic particles that enter the food chain and come to our tables and plates today. In this paper, an overview and review of research is written in which the occurrence of microplastics is observed and described and how it affects the marine world and the environment in general, and how its share in the oceans can be reduced.
