The introductory part explains what civil protection is and the principles on which it operates. In the second part, the history of the origin and development of civil protection from its beginnings to the present is briefly described, both at the global level and in the Republic of Croatia. The central, and at the same time the largest part of the work is dedicated to the organization of the civil protection system of the City of Sisak. Based on the analysis of the professional literature of the City, I will try to present the most significant activities in which the operational forces of the civil protection of the City of Sisak have participated so far, and present the results that I have reached by conducting research among the citizens of the City of Sisak on knowledge of the role and system of civil protection, and their proposals on the same. At the end of this paper, I will present my personal comprehension and conclusions that I came to by studying the organization and system of civil protection of the City of Sisak.
