Abstract | Odnos kulture i turizma je relativno novi međuodnos u teoriji i praksi hrvatskog turizma. Označava kretanje ljudi, kulturnih turista, uzrokovano kulturnim atrakcijama izvan mjesta njihova stanovanja u cilju zadovoljenja kulturnih potreba posjećivanjem bogate kulturno – povijesne baštine i kulturnih ljepota. |
Abstract (english) | The relationship between culture and tourism is a relatively new interrelation in the theory and practice of Croatian tourism. In contemporary times, mass tourism is being left behind and new specific forms of tourism, which offer tourists much more than just the sea and the sun, are being crated. One specific types of tourism, which has been increasingly developing, is culture tourism. Culture tourism is characterised by the movement of people, culture tourists, caused by culture attractions outside their place of residence with the goal of fulfilling cultural needs by visiting rich cultural-historical heritage and beautiful cultural sights. Along with attractive pull factors and the awareness of cultural tourism, this type of tourism has to be supported by fulfilling tourism demand, by anticipating future demands as well as creating an advantage in relation of the competition. Today, top destinations are the ones that give tourists the best experience, or in other words, provide activities that value culture and tradition, as well as adopt their offer to the needs, behaviour, interest and motivations of tourists. An example of a Croatian cultural tourism destination is Croatia’s most famous destination, Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik has all predispositions for developing cultural tourism and raising it to the next level. However, the existence of culture in itself is not necessary for the successful development of cultural tourism. Cultural tourism of Dubrovnik, its possibilities and the predispositions for its development, as well as stimulating and limiting factors, are the topic of this paper. |
