Nowdays, firefighting has many varied disadvantages. The need for new techniques and means of firefighting is essential because fires cause material damage and very often end with injuries and fatalities. A sound wave could be a potential alternative to common firefighting methods. The sound pressure and air velocity produced from the speakers are the main features of this research. The aim of this research in this final paper is to study and analyze the effect of different frequencies of a sound wave on a flame. A simulation of sound wave was carried out to study behavior acoustic wave propagation in the collimator and surrounding environment. Three different sources of flames were used to with three different state of fuel ̶ solid, liquid and gas. The combination of varying high and low pressure and coupled with high flow air velocity, which in then causes disturbances in air ̶ fuel ratio at the flame boundary (leading to thinning of flame boundary), is one of the possible explanation leading to flame extinction. The sound extinguishing system for the time being would be successful on its own in the initial stages of fire and cannot be used for further stages of fire.
