The object of this thesis is to point out the importance of human resources in organizations as a fundamental precondition for carrying out business activities: with their knowledge, which is nowadays, in digital age, of utmost importance, they propel all the other resources. Only by working with others and helping others, management can achieve the goals of business organizations, for which the knowledge and skills of people management are necessary. Quality management of human resources enables the achievement of company goals. Due to the competitive atmosphere that surrounds today's market, strategies are developed in an attempt to achieve even the minimal advantages over the competition. In this struggle to survive and to further develop and make profit, it is the management of human capital that is recognized as a powerful tool in achieving success and professional effectiveness of a company. Every organization must pay special attention to the organization and management of human resources, because nowadays successful organizations differ from the unsuccessful ones in the quality and motivation of human resources. The National Park Plitvice Lakes is the oldest, biggest and most visited national park in Croatia, which is the result of its natural values but also of the Park’s exemplary and elaborate system of human resources.
