The making of a Go-Kart depends on the its purpose. By complexity they can range for the basic models made of wood with no propulsion to really complicated racers who are made according to simulations, calculations and testing. This thesis begins with the design of the chassis which determines the dimensions and the type of the finale product. The design than needs to be validated with stress simulations to assure that the designed chassis will endure every type of stress during its use. After the design comes the selection of a motor to be used as the driving mechanism. In this case it will be an electric engine. The power of the motor determines the maximum speed of the vehicle and with it the amount of momentum that will appear on the driven shaft. Calculations of the shaft determines the rear tire width and the minimal needed diameter so that the shaft does not bend during its use. With the known design and shaft it is necessary to tune the front stub axle so that during cornering there is no slippage. A number of rules , that are explained in that chaper, were used to get it to the right position. In the same chapert is the postioning of the angle of the steering wheel according to the position of the driver. The last chaper is dedicated to the electronics needed to start the Go-Kart and about the security systems needed for a safe drive. In the conclusion there is a comparison between gasoline and electric engines and the cost of making an electric Go-Kart.
