The subject of this work is to approach and analyze the concept of Industry 5.0 and connect it from the point of view of safety at work. Also, compare the concepts of Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 and give a brief historical overview of industrial revolutions. In the paper, we present the advantages brought by Industry 5.0 and define new terms that appear with the arrival of new technologies such as: virtual reality, horizontal and vertical integration, smart factories, cloud computing and the Internet of Things. We explain how and in what way Industry 5.0 is more humane and how it returns humans to the center of the production process. Sustainability, resilience and human orientation are the main features of Industry 5.0, so we explain and define them in more detail. Projects related to Industry 5.0 were also discussed, some of which are in the process and some of which have been completed. The next steps for Industry 5.0 were defined, and attention was paid to the position of the Republic of Croatia in the European Union, and an assessment of the readiness of Rebulic of Croatia and other countries for the challenges that future production will bring.
