Family business in the Republic of Croatia has not yet been definitively defined. The family has a decisive influence. In a family business, the knowledge, skills and emotions of family members are mixed, Family members who want to ensure the stability and growth of the company in the best possible way, and to create a safe workplace and prosperity for family members, as well as other employees in the family business. Family businesses are more resistant to crises and challenges that arise. The goal is to produce goods or services in quantities that will enable the return of the invested money and the realization of a profit. The paper will present examples of successful family businesses, namely: Mesna industrija Gavrilović d.o.o., which has the longest tradition of a family business in the Republic of Croatia; Mesna industrija Braće Pivac d.o.o., whose history dates back to 1952.; and Hotel Korana Srakovčić in Karlovac, which was declared for the best small hotel in continental Croatia. Family business has a great influence on the national economies of countries.
