The protection of property and personnel is very important nowadays, but it’s not valued enough. This paper theoretically describes technical protection as the physical protection of property and personnel and how it is achieved. The main part of the implementation of technical protection is the making of of vulnerability assessments based on available information and the current condition of the building and then the development of the conceptual design of the technical protection system according to the rules of the profession. In order to be able to approach this, the paper lists the categories, degrees and types of technical protection with the most important elements and characteristics. In the experimental part of the work on the example of the school building, a system of technical protection will be developed, which belongs to III. Category. The technical protection system contains design, analysis and implementation, which is a very complex process that needs to be achieved if an adequate technical protection system is desired. Pir detectors, glass breakage sensors, fire extinguishers, cameras, security doors are just some of the devices and appliances that are in the implementation of the technical protection system solution for the school building, and are necessary if reduced risks or increase building safety is to be approached.
