Modern society is characterized by accelerated economic development, in which oil plays a special role as one of the most important natural reserves of chemical-organic products. Oil and petroleum products make it easier for a person to live daily life, well-being and prosperity of society, but the processing and storage of oil and petroleum products requires strictly controlled conditions, and emergency situations such as fires and explosions in such plants are possible with far-reaching consequences. It is imperative that every company involved in the transportation, processing, storage and distribution of oil and petroleum products has a fire protection regulation that must be of a high standard and that all conditions and procedures are provided in a timely maNarodne novineer to minimize emergencies measure. Fire protection of every company operating on the territory of the Republic of Croatia is defined by the Fire Protection Act, by-laws and autonomous sources of rights that legal persons are obliged to enact by virtue of laws and regulations. To this end, the Sisak Oil Refinery uses the Threat Assessment and the Fire Protection Plan as the basic document. The basic document is a Threat Assessment, which provides a factual analysis and expert analysis that proposes specific organizational, preventive and protective measures for the purpose of fire protection based primarily on the activities of the Sisak Oil Refinery fire department.
