In the general (theoretical) section of this paper I have described the basics of iron casts. I have differentiated the casts on the basis of chemical composition, structure, the production method and the properties of the cast itself. Do to the aforementioned properties of the the casts we have generally categorized them to steal, hard white, grey, nodular and malleable. All of the above mentioned casts in the text have been briefly described with their respective pictures attached, along with the microstructure of every cast. Do to the fact that the main focus of this paper is on the nodular cast, the experimental part is in great detail focused on it and its properties. I have ran experiments on the tensile strength and the bending rupture (toughness) of the cast. In the text you shall also find the description of Otto Wolpert Werke shredder and Charpy's mallet. The experiments themselves have been executed in the Laboratory for materials and heat treatment Veleuĉilišta u Karlovcu. Throughout the notes and description of the experiment you will find that there were two experiments conducted on ten samples. All ten of these samples were of a nodular cast and have been put through the tensile test and through the toughness test on the Charpy´s mallet. After the set amount of experiments have been conducted and finished, the analysis has been completed and the conclusion made.
